O God, Thou dost gladden us by the annual feast of Blessed Alexius, Thy Confessor; mercifully grant, that we may imitate his example, whose heavenly birthday we celebrate. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, Thy Son, Who livest and reignest with Thee in the unity of the Holy Ghost, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Saint Alexius, thou who now residest in Heaven, on my humble behalf, mercifully intercede for us with Our Heavenly Father.

Saint Alexius, graciously obtain for me the favour that I seek

through thy powerful intercession

I give thanks to Thee, heavenly Father, for protecting me through the night and granting me another day. I ask Thee to fortify me

with the grace of Thy Holy Ghost, and grant Thy peace to my soul,

that I may be free from all needless anxiety. Help me to desire always that which is pleasing and acceptable to Thee, so that Thy will may be my will. Today, make known to me, and take from my heart, every kind, form and degree of pride. Today, empty me of self, and awaken in me the depth of that humility which will enable me to reveal Thy light and truth. Today, do not allow attribution to me, for the good that Thou dost perform in me and through me, but rather, that all honor be Thine. Today, may Thy presence in me,

and Thy work through me, testify of Thy holiness and grace. Help me to die to self each day, and continuously seek Thy glorification

in all that I think or do. This I ask in the name of Jesus Christ, Thy Son, the Exemplar of humility. Amen.
